Cold and Flu Season?

On the calendar they, call it the Autumnal Equinox or the First Day of Autumn. As a mom, I am now thinking they should rename it as the First Day of Cold/Flu Season. Grace has a runny nose and a cough. I am trying to disinfect everything she touches before Lydia does. We have been fortunate that no one in the house has been sick since Lydia was born.

Wet Paint

We are slowing redoing our kitchen. Paul painted the kitchen on Saturday. After he finished painting, we went out for a few hours. When we came home we found Diesel with a lovely patch of yellow on his side. I've tried to wipe it off, but it hasn't come off yet.

French Fashion

We are still anxiously awaiting the arrival of Lydia's first tooth. Until that little tooth comes in, you won't see many pictures of Lydia without a hand, pacifier or some other object in her mouth. Here is a picture of Lydia wearing the dress that Sonia got Lydia when she was in France earlier this year. Grace believes she should be in every picture. So as soon as she saw Lydia and Diesel get their picture taken she quickly sat next to Lydia and demanded a picture.

Future Fire Woman

The Richmfield Fire Department came to a recent Mom's Club meeting and taught the kids about fire safety. The kids got to spray the hose on the firetruck and climb in the firetruck as well. While other kids simply walked through the truck from one side to the other Grace and a couple of other girls made themselves at home in the truck. Grace sat in the fireman's seat and even tried to buckle her self into the seat.

Cleaning Service

Since we are only a one income family now, we take any free services we can get. Our cleaning girl takes about 30 minutes to get the living room clean, but she is very thorough. I am sure Paul would appreciate it if she could vacuum a little bit quicker since the vacuuming was done during a Packer game.

On a separate note, due to a recent growth spurt, the pajamas that Grandma Borneman bought last month fit now. Just in time for cooler nights.

Beer and Babies

Paul and friends headed to a few local brewery tours on Saturday while Jacque and I stayed back with the kids. Since 4 kids and a dog were more than enough to keep us occupied there are no photos until the boys came home.

The guys did a great job of keeping Caleb and Grace occupied outside for most of the night. Lydia quickly decided that Angie was her favorite and made sure she was always in her sight.

Sunday, the girls and I drove up to Freedom. Thanks to Grandpa Borneman for watching Grace while my mom and I went to Char's shower and shopped. Luckily both girls slept for most of the ride up there and back home.

A Few Random Photos from Labor Day

Now that Lydia is finally sitting up by herself she was able to get in the pool with Grace for the first (and probably only) time this summer. Later that same day when I was moving fall and winter clothes into the closets and putting some summer clothes away for a while, Grace found her winter boots and insisted she wear them.
