(from left) Sam, Jill, Michelle, Lisa, and Christy ran the Dirty Girl at Milford Hills. Here's a pic the only time Grace liked being around them.
Before...
Grace got a chance to wish mom well, "Go Mom!"
And the race is on. They all think they're going to like it. Silly ladies.
We saw a couple of the obstacles. The first was some hay bales. Must have been replacing them during the race. This is how they looked after 5000 runners had climbed them.
The next chance we had was at the halfway point. Before here, they encountered some mud and some tire obstacles.
The great part about this one was the spectators kept quiet about the entry. These the only women I saw who didn't fall face first as they entered. The footing is hidden by the muddy water and the tarp underneath is slick. I was very disappointed no one went under.
Michelle was having fun scaring the girls. Before there was a snow fence between us and them. Now it was nothing more than a ribbon between Grace, Lydia, and Ella and those filthy ladies.
Lisa was happy to be part of the run but not quite thrilled with the mud. Her friends were sensitive to her requests to be left alone.
The final obstacle, cargo net climb, had about a 20 minute wait. And this group was the absolute last group of the day.
After...

Up North with the Bornemans
Rudy's sister and brother-in-law own a cabin in Rhinelander where we vacationed for a little less than a week. (Thank you Weynbergs.) The week started a little cold with a slightly chilly boat ride around the lake to the calmest section we found. Haley was the first to jump in. Not to be outdone by Paul.
On this trip and others, Grandpa didn't have the sense to set an age limit on piloting the boat. Sorry for the damage to the outboard, Dave.
Grandma was generous enough to share some warmth after Lydia got her toes wet.
Despite Paul dumping Lydia into the lake via the weeble wobble jet ski, Lydia got back on. This time with Grandpa. She was much happier.

Another Day at Bay Beach
Following the girl's dance performance, we headed out of town for a north woods vacation. But before heading up north, we stopped at Bay Beach.
The carousel was a huge hit with Lydia.
And Ella, of course.
And Grace.
Then the girls quickly raced to the ferris wheel.
Ella went on her first ferris wheel ride and LOVED it. She would scream in anticipation of going down and and around!
We all went on a train ride and a few other rides before heading on for the rest of our vacation.

Dance
Since we missed the spring dance performance, the girls were really looking forward to this performance. The girls performed to the "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini." I have the performance on video, but haven't downloaded it yet. Maybe that would be a good husband task.

First Haircut
It's not really Lydia's first haircut, because she took it up herself to complete that task herself. But, a couple days later, I decided to bring her in for the professional first haircut.
Her self-operated haircut was actually pretty good, just giving herself cute little bangs. Then people proceeded to tell her that it actually looked cute and said how much of a good job she did!
Don't encourage her crazy behavior people!

A HOT Day at Bay Beach
We met some friends at Bay Beach a few weeks ago on what seemed like the hottest day of the year. Thankfully it wasn't very busy and we didn't stay long. We opted to ditch Bay Beach for air conditioning and a sprinkler. We had fun for the short time that we were there.
As usual Grace and Lydia made a beeline for the ferris wheel.
Then a few helicopter rides.
Grace went on the Scrambler for the first time.
Lastly, a short train ride.
So long, until next time.
